COVID 19

COVID 19

I'm pleased to say that in line with current government recommendations we are able to re-open the studio from April 12th, with outdoor shoots for up to 5 people from March 29th (larger outdoor shoots will need to be after the 12th.) However should we enter a full national lockdown again we would be forced to close and appointments would be re-scheduled. Please read the below carefully and make sure you understand and follow the new rules so we can continue to operate in the safest way possible.

When we do re-open there will be new rules, as advised by the government (and some extra ones I've added just to be super careful) to protect both you and me which I wanted to outline so you can also see everything we are doing to keep things as safe as possible.

Outdoor Photoshoots

Thankfully the risk of infection outdoors is very low, however we will maintain a 2m distance at all times, no more handshakes, hugs or high 5's.
We won't be visiting some of my busier locations like Bushy Park for a while, even though the risk is very low I want to avoid crowded car parks just to be super careful, please ask for about new outdoor locations when you book.
You can also have a newborn shoot outdoors, it will be more natural, less posed with a greater focus on family photos - please contact me for more info on these

Studio Photoshoots

Here there will be noticeable changes, firstly I want to let you know exactly what I will be doing to reduce risks (many I was already doing as working with newborns I always made the studio as clean and sterile as possible) I will then go through the changes.

- All soft fabrics in contact with baby are washed with antibacterial wash inbetween every shoot.
- All hard surfaces and props disinfected.
- Illness from either party to be disclosed and shoot postponed.
- Hands and forearms thoroughly washed before handling baby

Changes

- Sadly I'll no longer be providing food and drink to clients, but do feel free to bring you own. It does get warm in the studio so a water bottle is always advised.
- Only one shoot a day to alllow time for any airbourne particles to settle and be cleaned away
- UV cleaning in the studio after every shoot.
- Immediate family only allowed, no more than 2 adults (excluding me) in the studio per shoot, arrangements to be made for all siblings, regardless of age to leave the studio after their photos have been taken.
- Shoes to be removed at the studio entrance.
- Clients hands washed everytime on entering and re-entering the studio.
- Photographer will be using N95 mask and disposable masks will be available for clients who wish to use them (do feel free to bring your own if you prefer).
- Clients are not to touch props, feel feel to look and let me know any props you'd like used but please don't pick them up!
- Ventilation, as advised by the government indoor spaces should have ventilation, as such the windows will be open during sessions, however please don't worry that your baby will get cold as I have a small heater I can use just for baby.
- With the exception of newborns, the 1m social distancing rule will be maintained between photographer and all other studio visitors.
- LFT to be taken by both all attending clients and photographer the morning of the shoot without exception

COVID-19 Warning

By visiting Bright Apple Photography, you agree to abide by all the rules as set out above and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

On a personal level, whilst I know I don't have to disclose this I want you to know about lifestyle so your choice to come to the studio can be as informed as possible.
Firstly I'm a single mum, as such if I get sick there is no one to care for my son, wellness in this time is as important to me as it is to you. I am not taking the desicion to work lightly, I will only be doing so when I believe the risk is at a safe and managable level.
I have a phobia of crowded places so I naturally avoid them anyway (I'm loving the 2m rule!).
I drive so do not use public transport.
I still wear a mask indoors in public places
As a singleton there is no other adult in my household to bring in additional infection from another workplace, it is only me.
I have had all 3 Covid Vaccines
I take a lateral flow test every morning on days when I have a photoshoot booked.

My work is so important to me, my health is important to me, your health is important to me so as such although isolation has been lifted, I will still be avoiding pubs, bars and crowded spaces and anywhere that poses an unnecessary risk of infection wherever I possibly can.

I hope this has helped, I do not claim to be able to offer an enviroment which is corona or any other virus free, I don't believe anyone in all honesty can, viruses which are of far greater risk to babies have always been around and we have always managed them sensibly and we will continue to do so.

Please do message me with questions regarding these safety measures and any other questions you may have about shoots with Bright Apple Photography.
